A new alarm app called Wayk is gaining traction by forcing users to do 10 push-ups before they can turn off their alarm, turning waking up into a physical challenge instead of a tap-to-snooze action.

The idea targets people who struggle with oversleeping and habitually hit snooze, replacing passive alarm dismissal with mandatory movement. Instead of simply silencing an alarm, users must complete a short set of push-ups before the alert shuts off, making it harder to fall back asleep.
Wayk has reportedly reached around US$100,000 per month in revenue, signaling strong early demand for more “forced behavior” productivity tools.
The concept has sparked mixed reactions online.

“10 pushups right after waking up? i’m definitely deleting the app after the first two pushups 😂”

“The genius of alarm apps is the retention loop, people literally can’t uninstall them without oversleeping. Adding a physical gate (pushups, steps, etc.) makes the habit stick even harder.”

“This is a great idea! I have a few people I can definitely recommend this to. Is it a requirement that you move away from your bed to complete the mission, or can a person ‘cheat’ by staying in bed and completing the mission?”

“That’s so cool! I’d really hate it if I woke up feeling really sleepy or really cold, but there’s no doubt the alarm would do the job hahaha”
